Evangeline Lilly Confirms The Wasp Won't Appear Much in ‘Avengers 4’

Evangeline Lilly has some good news and some bad news for fans of the Wasp.

If there’s one element of Infinity War that continues to fuel debate online, it’s who exactly we can expect to see in the film. In an extensive Q&A session on her Instagram page (via ComicBook.com), Evangeline Lilly, who made her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as Hope Van Dyne/The Wasp in 2015's Ant-Man, revealed some good news: She'll make an appearance in the fourth Avengers movie. Unfortunately, the actress also had some bad news: She won't be on-screen for long.

"I will appear in Avengers 4. Not very much, so don't get your hopes up. Not going to be [in it] a ton. But I'm in there!" Lilly said. Though her involvement isn't massive, Lily stated that she's thrilled to be a part of Avengers 4 in any capacity: "I'm proud to be in there, and I'm stoked to be in there."

Lilly went on to describe her on set experience and as you would expect, she had a great time.

“I had so much fun on the Avengers 4 film set because they made it like a party, it was right around Christmas time and it was just like they had this tent set up with Christmas carols, with Christmas lights, and music, so every time we would be on set or walk off the set we’d walk into this really festive environment and I was surrounded by all these rock stars who are super cool people in real life and we all got to know each other. Robert Downey Jr. would have us to his tent for lunch and we’d all sit down and have lunch together. It ended up being what I think a lot of fans think a lot of fans imagine its like on a film set with a bunch of film stars, which usually it isn’t. Usually film stars all go to their own trailers and disappear and don’t talk to one another and they get on the phone with their wife or their husband or their agent or their the CEO of a company that they’re running and they’ve got something to do during their lunch hour, and sometimes it can be a really lonely place ot be, on a film set. But Avengers was the polar opposite of that. It was this community, and it was fun, and people were really warm and kind.”

Other characters confirmed for Avengers 4 are Pepper Potts, Black Panther‘s sister Shuri, and Valkyrie, among others, so there was never going to be enough time to give everyone a starring role. But it does look like Lilly will have more than enough to do when she sticks on a pair of wings and shrinks down in size in Peyton Reed’s upcoming 2018 film, Ant-Man and the Wasp. As the sequel to 2015’s Ant-Man, Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang is back for more, but this time he has a partner in tow: the Wasp.
